Manzanita Campground in Oak Creek Canyon
Manzanita Campground sits beside Oak Creek in a shaded riparian area of Coconino National Forest. The campground is close to Sedona yet has a distinctly wooded canyon setting with creek access, gravel beaches, stream-side boulders and opportunities to see birds and other wildlife.
Slide Rock State Park is only a short drive north, while Sedona’s red-rock attractions, restaurants and services are approximately six miles to the south. Oak Creek Canyon can become especially busy on weekends and during peak visitor periods.
Campsites & Reservations
Manzanita is a tent-only campground with small individual campsites tucked closely together along Oak Creek. Recreation.gov currently lists reservable tent-only, nonelectric campsites and notes that a limited number of sites may be available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Individual campsites accommodate up to eight people. Parking is limited, and Recreation.gov currently specifies one vehicle per campsite with no additional campground parking available.

Directions To Manzanita Campground
From Sedona, follow State Route 89A north into Oak Creek Canyon for approximately six miles. Manzanita Campground is along State Route 89A just south of Slide Rock State Park.
From the Phoenix area, take Interstate 17 north to Exit 298 for State Route 179. Follow SR 179 north into Sedona, turn north onto State Route 89A and continue approximately six miles into Oak Creek Canyon.
From Flagstaff, follow State Route 89A south toward Sedona through Oak Creek Canyon. The route is scenic but winding, so allow extra travel time and check road conditions before driving during winter weather or other adverse conditions.
