Sedona At Oak Creek Canyon
Scenic beauty at its best. Bootlegger Camping on banks of Oak Creek in the Canyon just north of Sedona AZ at Oak Creek is a small but gorgeous campground featuring clear-water swimming holes and trout fishing. Lush vegetation and tall trees within astounding views. A.B. Young trail head begins at the southern end of the camping grounds.
With only 10 camping sites and no advance reservations, get there early to claim your spot, particularly during the summer months. Bootlegger is open all year, but the best camping time is spring through mid-September. Limited to tent camping only and is available for picnic day-use from 10 AM to 1 PM. Trailers and RVs are prohibited.
Facilities & Amenities. There are 10 single-unit camp sites and each site is limited to 8 campers per site. Picnic tables, fire rings, cooking grills, drinking water and barrier-free vault toilets are onsite. A camp host is available. Firewood is available for sale.
Reservations. Bootlegger does not take reservations. First come, first serve.
Restrictions & Guidelines.
- Tents and small sleep-in vehicles only, trailers are not permitted.
- Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 6 PM.
- No utility hookups.
- Pets must always be restrained or on a leash.
- No horses allowed in the campground.
- No glass containers are permitted at nearby Slide Rock State Park or Grasshopper Point Swim Area.
- Motorbikes may only be used for entering or leaving campsite.
- 7 day stay limit.
Camping Fees. Currently $18 per night, $7 additional for a second vehicle. Holders of Golden Age or Golden Access, America-the-Beautiful Senior or America-the-Beautiful Access passes will receive 50% for overnight camping. Fees and guidelines are subject to change without notice. Call for latest fees and restrictions.
Directions. Easy access. Go north on Highway 89A from Sedona about 6 miles. Bootlegger is on the west side of US 89A in Oak Creek Canyon. See map below.

Always call for the latest information, fees and conditions. Since the elevation in Oak Creek Canyon is about 500 feet higher in the canyon. the temperatures at Bootlegger will be slighter cooler versus the temperatures in Sedona.
